Every day, I receive an enquiry about learning the harmonium.
but instead of "how do I start" — it often comes as "IF" I should?"
To me the question is not really about the harmonium.
It's
"IF I should prioritise expressing myself."
If the answer is yes — the pull you feel toward the Harmonium is likely
that desire, reflected back at you.
and The Mini Harmonium Course has been made for You
Shruti Boxes also welcome!

finding ease and silence through sound accompanied by the harmonium
Before I created this course, I was often hearing the same thing from fellow yoga teachers. They wanted to bring harmonium into their classes but they felt afraid to get started.
I tapped into my own process - in which sometimes I feel like a musician, but a lot of the time I take refuge in the sound and I realised -
that my most profound experiences were happening when I wasn't trying to make music or get anywhere.
I was chanting single syllable mantras accompanied by the sound of the drone.
I was seeking and Finding solace and Myself through this process.
And the most incredible thing was the realisation that it is absolutely not a prerequesite to be "musical" or "talented to begin this profound relationship with sacred sound
and the mini harmonium course was born

The Mini Harmonium Course is actually
more like a portal than a course.
With the harmonium and your own voice. You will learn how to create a doorway of sound which will allow you to enter with ease into inner stillness.
In short - the process of meditation and finding stillness becomes reliable.

I will show you how to create and weave in appropriate verbal cues to your Your own deepening experience
This same doorway of sound to silence can be opened in yoga classes, sacred spaces and sound baths to immediately transform and consecrate the atmosphere.
It's not only the participants that feel it, but you too will feel able to teach from a deeper and more tuned in space.

This question "IF" I should start to learn the harmonium instead of "how?"
fascinates me as
Whenever I go deeper with someone that asks this question, I find the same thing underneath the hesitation:
a longing for self-expression that's waiting for permission.
I haven't found another instrument that opens the voice quite like the harmonium — in authenticity, depth, confidence, resonance.
nor one that draws me into the vibrant silent space within.
It is truly a companion on the quest to find our True Voice.
So... if you're now asking yourself
"HOW do I begin?"

I've been playing harmonium for 14 years — nearly as long as I've practiced yoga. Over 100 students have gone through my flagship course Harmonium Freedom and 240 through the mini course. Over the past 5 years I've taught harmonium, voice and mantra on yoga teacher trainings in Freiburg, Germany and in Holland.
The biggest theme that I encounter in myself and in others on this journey
is the fear of what others will think .
I used to believe my voice had to be perfect.
I experienced a big shift in perspective when a friend told me a kirtan I'd led was
"Perfect...
a bit TOO PERFECT. ..
It lost something in that."
The shift took me on a journey from perfectionism back to childlike expression to show love back to life.
I no longer worry if I sing a bit out of tune.
I focus on feeling what's alive in me and offering it out through the heart.
To let my feeling of being who I am express itself.
And this is the way that I encourage others to approach the harmonium.
As I journeyed deep into my nād sadhāna - with voice as my instrument, shaped by mantra I discovered:
I could RELIABLY create meditative space for myself and others
how to experience the silence behind the sound
how to recognise the feeling beneath the surface emotion
how to lean back into my true Self
the importance of co-creating with life from this inner anchorage.

Spending hours on YouTube searching for contradictory tutorials
Downloading random chord charts that don't make sense
Feeling overwhelmed by music theory you don't need
Struggling to match your voice with your fingers
Doubting if you're "musical enough" to play harmonium
Letting your harmonium gather dust in the corner
Worrying about whether you're ready to lead
Putting off using harmonium in your classes because it feels too hard

You're about to open your yoga class or sacred space.
instead of awkward silence and participant restlessness to manage,
You confidently sit down at your harmonium and play a mesmerising tone.
You lead by talking over the soud settling the room — inviting students to close their eyes and return to themselves.
You guide three oms, then a simple mantra like lokah samastah sukhino bhavantu.
You experience the participants becoming silent and present vibrant attentiveness. You feel the restlessness quieten into calm.
And as the teacher, you feel it too: an enhanced capacity to tune into a deeper space to teach from — more centred, more harmonious, yourself.
And from here you flow effortlessly into your session.
You might feel slightly nervous the first time. But you know what to do.

I'm Daisy — sound teacher, Ayurvedic practitioner, and harmonium teacher.
My work centres around my belief that finding the spark within us through deep self inquiry, and expressing it fully and authentically is the key to reconnecting with our true nature and the unobstructed life force.
I believe that when we are individually in tune, we have a great capacity to move with joy, harmony and sense of alignment and can therefore uplift the vibration of everything and everyone we encounter our lives.
For the past five years I've been guiding yoga teachers across Europe into their relationship with the harmonium and most importantly to their own Authentic voice, in workshops, retreats, and teacher training programmes.
This mini course is the distilled version of these live offerings.
Mini harmonium Course

Beyond the mini course

I'm so grateful for the personal growth and the inner insight from your offerings I've learnt so much — about rhythm, singing and about myself. You create a loving, safe space whilst still challenging us to reach our potential, so that everyone could continue to grow... I'd also like to thank you for the special support you gave me in overcoming my insecurity. I've stepped out of my comfort zone very often... I've really learnt that it's not about the performance, and yet something great can still come of it - of me (and I don't need to be a performer or musician for that)...

I came to Daisy carrying a belief that I wasn't good enough — that my voice needed to sound a certain way to be acceptable. I'd censor myself in groups and alter how I spoke depending on who was around. I didn't come to harmonium believing there was a fix. I came to it depressed, following an inkling that "the opposite of depression is expression." Two years on, I'm leading my own kirtans. I've discovered a space within myself I didn't know existed — and I care far more about what I want to express than about how it's received.

Hearing my own voice so present and being heard by everyone made me incredibly vulnerable. At this moment an old memory came up. Ten years ago a teacher said to me, 'You're growling' After that, I was put in the second row. I realized how deep this sentence was still in me. But with Daisy's loving companionship I was able to show myself step by step. With excitement, trembling lips and all that goes with it. And yesterday, at the graduation kirtan, I could suddenly enjoy. I was no longer dealing with just my fear, I was dealing with what really matters. Because Kirtan is not a performance for me. It's not about singing perfectly. It's all about creating a space together — full of love, connection and devotion... I am grateful for this experience. She has grown my confidence in my own voice and in myself."

I wasn't prepared for how vulnerable I'd feel in that first session. Something in me — a performative mask I'd been gripping for a very long time — started to crack. A sound came from a place I didn't know existed. I wanted to control it. I couldn't. It was terrifying, and it was the most freeing thing I'd ever felt. The morning of the graduation kirtan, my voice was tired and I was tightening with nerves. I asked Daisy what to do. She said: "Let the universe flow through me — then I'll sing from a completely different place." That one sentence undid something. The mask doesn't crack by trying harder. It cracks by letting go. When it was my turn to lead, the microphone got knocked, I laughed — and something loosened. I stopped trying to control my voice and let the sound move through me. When we sang a canon together, I felt this immense power flow out of me, and another flow back as the room sang the melody in return. The whole room felt like one moving wave, vibrating in the same rhythm. It was one of the most beautiful things I've ever experienced. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
